Description

THE International Centre for Liturgical Studies (C.LE.L.) was founded in 1994 by a group of French laypeople. Under ecclesiastical guidance it organizes an annual academic colloquium, the aim of which is to promote understanding of the traditional liturgy of the Latin Church in a spirit of complete loyalty to the Magisterium.

These conferences are open to all, and are attended by -priests, religious, acaden1ics and ordinary laypeople. Each year C.LE.L. arranges for the Proceedings to be translated and published in a number of different languages. This English language edition is prepared by members of CIEL UK.

The Fourth International Colloquium took place from 7th to 9th October 1998 at the Foyer de Charit, Poissy, near Paris, attracting more than a hundred participants from all over the world.
